Easter entertaining ideas
Getting creative is one of my favourite ways of keeping kids entertained during school holidays. Here are a couple of ideas to try your hand at.
Spring is in full swing and the Easter holidays are here already. If you’re a parent you’ll be only too familiar with that all-important question ‘what are we doing today?’ Two weeks is a lovely long break, but it does mean you need to come up with a lot of entertainment ideas. I find arty, creative ideas go a long way (particularly if the weather isn’t behaving) so here are just a couple of ideas for whiling away a spring day.
Easter egg maracas
Fillable plastic eggs are a blank canvas for your creativity. We decided to use ours to make our own musical instruments! Simply open up the eggs and fill one half with seeds or beans. Seal them up using sticky tape and decorate them however you like with beads, glitter, etc! Top tip – different sized seeds/beads will make different sounds, so you could make a variety of maracas and create your own band.
Decorate this pink bonnet to make a cute Easter garment. We decorated ours tearing strips of tissue paper and sewing them onto the hat (because it can get windy out there Easter egg hunting). We also sewed on plastic eggs from the egg and spoon race set, although you could use strong glue. We made some simple tissue paper flowers and some fluffy Easter chicks and glued these into place too. For the final touch, we added some fake daffodils and Easter ribbon.
